Our new website is currently under construction.
Southside Travellers Action Group began life as South Dublin Travellers Support Group in 1985, when a handful of Travellers and settled people came together to try to prevent the eviction of a group of Travellers camped beside the church in Foxrock. In those days, much of the work was focused on fighting evictions and supporting Traveller families. Since then, we have grown to become a provider of accommodation support, education & training services, employment & youth services to over 215 Traveller families resident in the Dun Laoghaire – Rathdown area.
Southside Travellers envisions an Ireland where the human, civil rights, dignity, hopes and distinct cultural identity of Travellers is acknowledged and respected.
Our Mission Statement
Operating within the context of social inclusion and local community development, we seek to realise our vision through the design, development and delivery of a series of integrated programmes which proactively responds to the needs of Travellers in Dun Laoghaire – Rathdown.
Our Guiding Principle
In all of our work we are guided by the core principle of Traveller Leadership and Participation.
